ObliqueMapper: How it Works

Relative Orientation

Relative orientation, the alignment of each photograph in respect to its neighbours, is computed from multiple tie-points between photographs. Tie-points are objects (such as a corner of a building) clearly identifiable within two or more photographs. By specifying several tie-points between the various photographs (at least 6 per photograph is recommended), a relative orientation for each photograph can be estimated.
